Mark Harris, CPA, joined the firm in 2017.  He works principally in the firm’s Lafayette office providing service to individuals, closely held businesses and some tax exempt organizations.  Many of our clients’ companies are owned and successfully operated by multiple generations of family members.  We support these businesses with strategic management consulting, financial and compliance reporting services, general accounting and taxation related services and financial planning.  Mark focuses in industry areas that include agriculture, food services, hospitality, oil and gas, political campaign organizations, professional services, real estate and construction related activities, and retail businesses.

Mark earned a degree in Agricultural Business from the University of Louisiana – Lafayette.  He has been a CPA since 1980 with experience in auditing, business acquisition and sales, financial reporting, forensic accounting, governance and litigation support.

Mark served as a member of the State Board of CPA’s of Louisiana from 1996 to 2016.  While a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, he was chair of NASBA’s Communications, Education, and Compliance Assurance Committees and was a member of the International Qualifications Appraisal Board.  Mark was elected as Chairperson of NASBA in 2011-12.  He was an initial and active board member of NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust, served on the Board of Examiners’ Score Scale Task Force and served for four years on the AICPA’s Peer Review Board.  He is a former President of the Louisiana Society of CPA’s Acadiana Chapter.  In Lafayette, Mark has served as a member of civic and charitable organizations and private school boards, an Arbitrator with the BBB, coached youth sports teams and is a member of the Mardi Gras Krewe of Gabriel.
